Rebecca Seawright is the incumbent Assembly member for New York's 76th District, first elected in 2014. She is the first woman to serve the district. Born in Texas, she previously worked for U.S. Senator Lloyd Bentsen and served as the New York State Director of the National Women's Political Caucus. Seawright earned a Juris Doctor from the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law. She currently serves as the Chair of the Assembly's Aging Committee. Prior to her role in the Assembly, she was an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County and a member of Community Planning Board 8.
