Rebecca Wyhof Salmon

Rebecca Wyhof Salmon was elected Mayor of Sanford in 2022 after serving on the Sanford City Council for Ward 5 from 2011 to 2022. She is the President of Blue Roof Strategies, LLC, bringing over 25 years of public and private sector experience. Her previous roles include Vice President of the North Carolina Telecommunications Industry Association (NCTIA) and Communications Director for the Pew Center for Civic Journalism in Washington, D.C. She has also worked for the North Carolina Civic Education Consortium, the City of Fayetteville, and the Office of Environmental Security at the Pentagon. Salmon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Communication from American University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
