Born in Detroit, she earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and a master's degree in education from Wayne State University, along with a Ph.D. in education from Ashford University. A three-time Teacher of the Year, Ross is running as a Democratic candidate for the Michigan House of Representatives to represent District 4.
