A native of Everett, she previously worked as a criminal Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Snohomish County, an associate judge for the Tulalip Tribal Court, and a judge pro tem in various local courts. She received her B.A. in political science from Washington State University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law.
