Rena Spellman

Rena Spellman was born and raised in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She graduated summa cum laude from Elizabeth City State University and magna cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law. With over a decade of legal experience, she has served as both a prosecutor and a private attorney, handling thousands of cases ranging from traffic violations to serious felonies across several North Carolina counties. In private practice, she focused on criminal, family, and civil matters, and was committed to defending those who could not afford legal representation. She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She currently serves on the board for the Nash Edgecombe Wilson ("NEW") Community Action organization. She lives in Nash County with her husband and their two children.
