Richard B. 'Blake' Sanders is an incumbent Republican member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, serving District 9 since November 2024. He assumed office after winning the 2024 election, having defeated James Galyean in the Republican primary runoff and running unopposed in the general election, and was endorsed by Americans for Prosperity. Sanders is known for sponsoring the South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act of 2023, a bill that would make women who had abortions eligible for the death penalty.
