Richard 'Todd' Carver is a lifelong resident of Iredell County, aside from his time serving in the U.S. Air Force. He has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, having worked for the Mooresville Police Department and the Iredell County Sheriff's Office before retiring in 2020. He earned a law enforcement certification from Mitchell Community College and later became the Basic Law Enforcement Training director at the college. Carver previously served on the Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education for District 7 from 2018 to 2022, acting as chairman in his final year. He also ran unsuccessfully for the Iredell County Board of Commissioners in 2022.
