Richard Chavez is the current Municipal Judge for the Town of Taos. There is a Chief District Court Judge for the Eighth Judicial District also named Emilio J. Chavez who was appointed in 2015, was a former prosecutor, and played professional baseball, but it is unconfirmed if this is the same person.
