Richard Muri

Richard "Dick" Muri is the current Mayor of Steilacoom, appointed in March 2021. He previously served as a Republican member of the Washington House of Representatives for the 28th district and on the Pierce County Council for District 6 from 2003 to 2012. Muri is a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel with 22 years of service, including participation in Operation Urgent Fury and the Gulf War. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1975. His community involvement includes serving on the Steilacoom Historical School District Board of Directors and co-founding the Steilacoom Lakewood Youth Wrestling Association. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2017.
