Ricky Cox

Ricky Cox, a Republican, is the Sheriff of Calvert County, Maryland, elected to the office in November 2022 and sworn in on December 20, 2022. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he served two tours in Iraq before being honorably discharged. In 2004, Cox began his law enforcement career as a Deputy Sheriff with the Calvert County Sheriff's Office, where he served for 18 years before his election as Sheriff. He holds an associate's and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. His dedication to public service is further demonstrated by his past role as a volunteer firefighter in the county.
