Rob Barron is the Executive Director of Seed Coalition. He previously served for eight years on the Des Moines School Board, including as chair and vice-chair, and was the first Latino elected to a school board in Polk County. Barron worked for U.S. Senator Tom Harkin for 13 years, serving as his state staff director. He is also the founder of the Latino Political Network, a nonpartisan organization that aims to educate and empower Latinos to serve in elected office. He has also worked as the director of NextGen Climate and as a special assistant for government and community relations at Grand View University. Barron is a graduate of Roosevelt High School and Grinnell College. He lives in the Beaverdale neighborhood of Des Moines with his wife and two children.
