Robert Jacobsen Menendez Jr. is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. representative for New Jersey's 8th congressional district since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey from 2021 to 2023. Before entering public office, Menendez worked as an attorney at the law firm Lowenstein Sandler LLP. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School.
