A conservative, he has a background in law enforcement, having served as a Supervisory Special Agent with the Department of Homeland Security and in various roles for the Immigration and Naturalization Service, including Border Patrol Agent. He studied at the University of New Mexico and Penn State. His platform prioritizes education, advocating for increased school funding, teacher development, and technology expansion in classrooms, as well as fostering business-education partnerships. He also strongly opposes taxpayer funding for abortion providers. Godshall has previously sought this office.
