Robert Wofford

Robert 'Bob' Wofford is a native of Las Cruces, having attended local public schools. He holds a Master of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from New Mexico State University. Wofford taught English at Las Cruces High School for 34 years, from 1983 until his retirement in 2017. During his teaching career, he served as the English department head, sponsored clubs such as Amnesty International and the Gay Straight Alliance, and participated in a Fulbright Teaching Exchange in Canada. He has also worked as a consultant for the Advanced Placement (AP) Program since 2004. He is the first openly LGBTQ+ member of the Las Cruces School Board.
