Rodney Rawls is a candidate for Dare County Sheriff in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina — 2026 Primary Election. Running as Republican.

Rodney Rawls is a native of Dare County and graduated from Manteo High School in 2002. He began his public service at age 13 as a junior firefighter. In 2004, he joined the Kill Devil Hills Police Department and currently holds the rank of Master Patrol Sergeant. Rawls also served with Dare County EMS from 2013 to 2025 and continues to be a volunteer firefighter for Kill Devil Hills. He received the North Carolina Advanced Law Enforcement certificate in 2015 and the Hometown Hero Public Safety Award in 2017. In 2017, he also graduated from the West Point Leadership Program at Methodist University. He was named Firefighter of the Year for Kill Devil Hills in 2020 and 2022.
