Rodney 'Star' Thornley

Rodney Thornley is an Independent Party candidate seeking to represent Washington House of Representatives District 46, Position 2 in the 2026 primary election on August 4. He earned a high school diploma from Roosevelt High School and a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in 1974, also attending Seattle Central College and Seattle Pacific University. With a career as a teacher, a role he has held since 1977, Thornley campaigns on principles of independence from the two-party system, people-powered funding from grassroots donors, anti-corruption, and civility in his campaign conduct.
