Roger Alford was born and raised in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He graduated from Scotland High School in 1990. He began his career with the Scotland County Sheriff's Office in 2008 and graduated from Sandhills Community College's Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program in 2010. Throughout his tenure at the Sheriff's Office, he has held the ranks of Sergeant, Detective, Lieutenant, Captain, and currently serves as Major.
