Ron Mendive is a longtime North Idaho resident with over 60 years of experience in industries like mining, logging, and construction. Currently self-employed in land service and excavating, he also played a key role in developing technology for a successful international line of pellet stoves. Born in Elko, Nevada, he graduated from Kellogg High School and North Idaho College, where he met his wife Sherlene over four decades ago. They built a small farm south of Coeur d'Alene, raising three children in a log home. Mendive, a Republican, believes the founders included the pre-born in the unalienable right to life. He is an incumbent member of the Idaho House of Representatives for District 5A, seeking re-election in 2026.
