Ron Watson is a Democratic member of the Maryland State Senate, representing District 23. He first assumed office on August 31, 2021, following an appointment, and was subsequently elected to a full term in 2022. His legislative experience includes prior service in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2019 to 2021. Watson's career in public service also includes a term on the Prince George's County Board of Education. A veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, he holds a Ph.D. in systems science. His professional background is in business management and information technology consulting, which led him to establish his own firm, Watson Management Corporation. As a state senator, he is a member of the Education, Energy, and the Environment Committee.
