Russell Bedsole

Russell Bedsole is an incumbent Republican State Representative for Alabama's House District 49, covering parts of Shelby, Bibb, and Chilton counties. Prior to his legislative service, he built a career in law enforcement, joining the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department in 1999, where he achieved the rank of Captain. He also contributed to local governance as an Alabaster City Councilman for eight years. In the House, Bedsole is Vice Chairperson of the State Government Committee and serves on the Judiciary and Public Safety and Homeland Security Committees. His legislative efforts include bills on cryptocurrency fraud prevention and authorizing entertainment districts in Alabaster.
