Ryan Collins is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel with a 20-year military career where he served in various leadership and strategic planning roles, including combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma. After retiring from active duty, he became a Training Specialist supporting units at Camp Lejeune. He resides in Hampstead with his wife, Tina, a Pender County Schools employee, and their four children. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Pender County Republican Party.
