Safiyah Jackson

Safiyah Jackson is the incumbent for District 2 on the Wake County Board of Commissioners, appointed in early 2025 to fill a vacant seat. Her term is set to expire in December 2026. Jackson has a background as a non-profit executive, currently serving as the Chief Strategy Officer at the NC Partnership for Children/Smart Start Network. Her career spans over two decades in various leadership roles focused on early childhood advocacy, including positions at museums, philanthropic organizations, and higher education institutions. She previously worked as a marketing and sales manager at Ford Motor Company. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA from Florida A&M University, as well as Master of Education degrees in School Psychology and Early Childhood Administration from National Louis University. She is also a board member of the Raleigh Little Theatre and writes children's books about civic engagement.
