Sahara Hayes is a lifelong Utahn and incumbent State Representative for Utah's House District 32, which includes parts of Millcreek, Salt Lake City, and South Salt Lake. Elected in 2022, she became the youngest Democrat and only openly LGBTQ+ member of the Utah legislature at the time. Currently serving as House Minority Assistant Whip, she champions LGBTQ+ rights, environmental protection, public education, and firearm safety, having passed bills for youth suicide prevention and gender marker updates. With a background in grant writing, local government, and nonprofits, Hayes is dedicated to public service, ensuring her constituents' voices are heard in the legislature. She resides in Millcreek.
