Sam Liccardo is an American attorney and politician currently serving as the U.S. representative for California's 16th congressional district, having assumed office in 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, Liccardo previously served as the 65th mayor of San Jose from 2015 to 2023, and as a San Jose City Councilmember from 2007 to 2014. He holds a BA from Georgetown University and an MPP and JD from Harvard University.
