Sandy Salmon is an incumbent Republican State Senator for Iowa's District 29, seeking re-election in the 2026 primary. She served in the Iowa House from 2012-2022 before her 2022 election to the Senate. Salmon advocates for conservative principles including the right to life, traditional marriage, and Second Amendment rights. She supports local control and parental involvement in education, and conservative judicial appointments. She serves as Vice Chair of Veterans Affairs and on the Education Committee. A farm manager, Salmon previously led 4-H for 14 years. She lives near Janesville with her husband, Matt, and they have three sons and thirteen grandchildren.
