Sarah Stevens

Sarah Stevens is an attorney and a long-serving Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing the 90th district since 2009. She previously served as Speaker Pro Tempore of the House from 2017 to 2025. Born in Mount Airy, North Carolina, she earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law in 1986. For over 30 years, she maintained a private law practice, focusing on family law, and served as the president of the Surry County Bar Association. Throughout her legislative career, she has chaired several committees, including the House Judiciary Committee and the House Elections Law Committee.
