Satwinder Kaur has served on the Kent City Council since 2018 and was unanimously elected as Council President in 2024. A lifelong Kent resident and Kentridge High School graduate, she holds an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Washington and works as a Senior Engineer in the tech industry. First elected in 2017, she made history as the first Sikh woman elected to a city council in Washington State. She was re-elected unopposed in 2021. Kaur has over 20 years of community service, including volunteering with numerous local non-profits.
