Born and raised in Altoona, he earned degrees from Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary. After 15 years in the ministry, Barger managed his family's business and hosted a talk show on WRTA. He assumed office in December 2024 and serves on several committees, including Commerce and State Government. He resides in Hollidaysburg with his family.
