Scott Herin is an incumbent Judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, having assumed office in 2018. His legal career began after he obtained a J.D. from the Detroit College of Law and a B.A. from Michigan State University. Prior to his appointment to the bench by Governor Jerry Brown, Herin served as a deputy public defender in the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office from 1999 to 2018. He also worked as an attorney for Dependency Court Legal Services from 1998 to 1999 and for the Legal Aid and Defender Association of Detroit from 1995 to 1997. His current term is set to end on January 4, 2027.
