Houldieson has been a United Auto Workers (UAW) member for over 36 years, working as an electrician at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant. He has held multiple leadership roles within UAW Local 551, including Vice President and Trustee, and co-founded Unite All Workers for Democracy.
