Scott Louser, born in Minot, North Dakota, in 1971, is the incumbent State Representative for District 5, first assuming office in December 2010. A two-time Minot State University graduate with BS and MS degrees, he is a real estate broker and owner of NextHome Legendary Properties. He has three children and previously served on the Minot Public School Board. Louser has served for 16 years, including as House assistant majority leader and chairman of the Industry, Business and Labor Committee. He currently sits on the Appropriations, Education, and Special Education Funding Committees. Seeking reelection, he notes that serving his district has been a great honor. In 2021, Louser pled guilty to Driving Under the Influence.
