For more than a decade, Collier has been active as a community and disability advocate. His previous political campaigns include running as an independent for the 6th district state senate seat in 2014 and 2018. In 2020, he ran as a Republican for the 2nd district congressional seat, and he was the Republican nominee for the 7th District in the 2022 election.
