Scott Matthew Lippert

Scott Matthew Lippert is an incumbent District Court Judge for District 36. He was born in Ohio and attended Miami University, where he earned a B.A. in English Literature and Classical Humanities in 2010. He then earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University in 2013. After law school, Lippert moved to North Carolina and began his legal career in private practice before becoming a prosecutor for Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties. He later co-founded the law firm Beyer & Lippert with his wife. He is a State Board-Certified Specialist in North Carolina Criminal Law, a distinction held by a small percentage of attorneys in the state. He was elected to the bench in November 2024. He currently resides in Morganton with his wife and two children.
