Scott Nord is a judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California. He was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2023. Prior to his appointment, he served as a commissioner for the court, beginning in 2015. His judicial assignments have included presiding over family law and probate cases. Before joining the bench, Nord was a sole practitioner from 1996 to 2015, representing individuals and businesses in matters such as litigation, family law, and criminal defense. He also served as a Judge Pro Tempore from 2008 to 2015. Nord earned his law degree from Whittier Law School in 1996. He is also a professor at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law.
