Scott Floyd is a retired State Trooper for the North Carolina Highway Patrol, where he served for 20 years. Prior to that, he worked for the Department of Corrections for eight years. After retiring, he worked as a bailiff with the sheriff's office. He first announced his intention to run for the District 7 commissioner seat in October 2021 and won the election on November 8, 2022. He resides in the Pleasant Plains community.
