Scott Yang is an incumbent judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, having been elected to the bench on November 3, 2020, and assuming office on January 4, 2021. Prior to his election, he served as a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County, where he was assigned to the Sex Crimes Division. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Southwestern University School of Law. During his time at UCLA, he was the Director of the UCLA Pre-Law Society and a co-founder of the university's Mock Trial Association. His parents immigrated to the United States, and this experience influenced his decision to pursue a career in law.
