Shamaiye Haynes is a nonprofit leader and community advocate with a background in management, holding an Associate of Applied Business degree. She founded the Thomasboro Foundation and Charlotte Community Think Tank and has served on the boards of the Black Political Caucus and the League of Women Voters. Haynes has also been a guest lecturer at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte's Cato College of Education and served on the CMS Bond Oversight Committee since 2019. She previously ran for a CMS School Board At-large seat in 2023.
