For wildfire mitigation, economical benefits and ecological preservation, I'd like to pilot small-scale agriculture and livestock into some open areas of San Clemente. The Ecology Center is a great example of what I'd envision.

Speaking from lens as a content creator, multimedia designer and artist, I see the threats and uncertainty looming over our society, stemming from the rapid advances of A.I. While I have obviously used A.I. in significant aspects of my mayoral campaign, I’d like to emphasize that context and fluency are essential in harnessing this technology for creative applications. A.I. is a tool that is still in its infancy, so we have to be cognizant and cautious in disclosing its usage. Data-centers also pose an energy and water demand that we have to be ready to tackle. We need safeguards for the technology to ensure job security and public safety. On a positive note though, if we are effectively able to manage A.I. on the local level, we can even find ways to create tech jobs in our community. A.I. is promising, we just need to know when and how to utilize its vast power.

Flock cameras are an overreach. Community comments need to be considered when evaluating any contracts for Flock. Additionally, San Clemente’s expansion of surveillance technology along our coastline deserves greater scrutiny. I have concerns about the City Council’s decision to allow a federally operated maritime surveillance system overlooking our coast, particularly when the city has limited control over how that technology may be used. Public safety is important, but it should not come at the expense of transparency, accountability, and civil liberties. As Mayor, I would support greater oversight of these programs and work with the appropriate agencies to ensure public safety without unnecessarily expanding surveillance of our community.
