Shane McFarland was appointed to the Pullman Regional Hospital Board of Commissioners on April 2, 2025. He is the Online Wellness and Health Coordinator for Washington State University (WSU), where he is also a faculty instructor, prevention scientist, and doctoral candidate. His research is focused on community health initiatives. McFarland holds a Masters of Prevention Science from WSU and has a background in law enforcement, emergency response, and crisis management. He is also an emergency medical technician, certified exercise physiologist, and massage therapist. He moved to Pullman in 2013 to work at WSU after serving in the Peace Corps.
