Shanel Y. Robinson is a U.S. Air Force veteran and the current Somerset County Commissioner Director, making history as the first African American to serve in the role. A graduate of Rutgers University, Robinson previously served as a Franklin Township Councilwoman and Deputy Mayor. She also serves as the President of the New Jersey Association of Counties. Robinson is currently a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Jersey's 12th Congressional District.
