Shawn Chauncey

Shawn Chauncey is an American Republican politician currently serving as the incumbent Member of the Kansas House of Representatives for the 65th district, a position he assumed in January 2025. Originally from a ranch in South Dakota, he spent 27 years as a construction contractor in Junction City prior to his legislative career. Chauncey successfully campaigned for his seat by mounting a primary challenge, advocating for term limits and asserting that his predecessor was too involved in municipal affairs to adequately represent constituents. As a state representative, he has supported initiatives such as strengthening sister-state ties between Kansas and Taiwan.
