Shawn Logan is an Othello native and the current mayor. He has been involved in city government for over a decade. Prior to focusing on his role as mayor, he ran his own insurance business, a branch of Basin Pacific Insurance, since 1983 and retired from it to dedicate his attention to his civic duties. As mayor, he also serves as the city administrator. In 2019, he received the Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership from the Association of Washington Cities.
