My name is Sam Schraven and I have been a resident of Baldwinsville for more than four decades. I have worked and volunteered in our schools and I have previously volunteered with the Elden Elementary PTA, and the Girls Soccer and Field Hockey booster clubs. Kids have been central to my life’s work. My husband Tom and our two adult daughters are all graduates of C.W. Baker High School. I was employed by the Baldwinsville Central School District for 27 years where I held the titles of Job Coach, Teaching Assistant, Employment Services Specialist and Friend to Friend Advisor. I had the privilege to support students, and work with families and businesses in the Baldwinsville community. I also served as vice president and president of the Baldwinsville Educational Support Professional Association and served on the Strategic Goal and Funding the Future committees. As a member of the Board of Education, I served on the Strategic Goal, Audit, Facilities, DEI and Wellness committees. I have attended trainings and webinars to increase my knowledge to ensure a clear mission and vision for student success. Currently, I volunteer at the Baldwinsville Special Champions event, Baker Culture Fest and as a Book Buddy for the Syracuse City School District. I am running for a second term as a member of the school board to continue to be a voice for all students and I am excited to see what the future holds for the students of Baldwinsville.
