Spencer A Waugh

Spencer A. Waugh is a Democratic candidate for the Iowa House of Representatives, District 21, in the 2026 primary election. An experienced educator, husband, and father of two, he made Indianola, Iowa, his permanent home after moving from the Black Hills in 1994. He and his wife, Sinikka, who operates a local small business, are active in their faith community. Spencer currently serves as Associate Dean at Simpson College and supervises high school student teachers. His "Putting Local Families First" campaign focuses on investing in public education, affordable childcare, accessible mental health care, patient-driven healthcare decisions, tax incentives for small businesses, and a livable minimum wage. He previously ran for this seat in 2024.
