Stephanie R. Hayden serves as a District Court Judge for North Dakota's East Central Judicial District, Seat 10. Appointed by Governor Doug Burgum in 2023, she was sworn in on November 6, 2023. Born in West Fargo in 1978, Judge Hayden earned her BA from the University of North Dakota, a BS in Paralegal Studies from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and her JD from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2008. Her career includes serving as a law clerk, working in private legal practice (2009-2020), and as a Judicial Referee and Magistrate (2020-2023) prior to her appointment. Her chambers are in Fargo, serving Cass, Steele, and Traill counties. She is seeking re-election in the 2026 Primary Election for this judicial seat.
