Stephanie Smith

Stephanie Smith is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 45 in Baltimore City. First elected in 2018, she assumed office on January 9, 2019. In the legislature, Delegate Smith holds key leadership positions as the Chair of the Baltimore City Delegation and as a member of the Appropriations Committee. Her professional background combines expertise in law and urban planning. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hampton University, a Master of Arts from the University of Delaware, and a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law. Prior to her legislative career, Smith's professional experience included working for the Baltimore City Department of Planning and serving as general counsel for Earthjustice, a nonprofit environmental law organization.
