Steve Hopf has been a resident of Clallam County for over 60 years and is a graduate of Port Angeles High School. He holds associate degrees from Peninsula College in Nursing and Industrial Electronics. His career includes roles as a Nurse, Operating Room Technician, and Certified Medical Electronics Technician at Olympic Memorial Hospital. He began as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT at Black Diamond Station, where he became the district's first overall Chief Officer. In 1989, he was hired as a full-time Firefighter/EMT in Federal Way with South King Fire & Rescue, where he achieved the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain, and Training Officer before retiring. He was also a member of the FEMA Puget Sound Task Force (WATF-1) and was deployed to the Oklahoma City Bombing. He was first elected to the Clallam County Fire District No. 2 commission in 2019.
