Steve Montenegro

Steve Montenegro, born in El Salvador, immigrated to the U.S. at age four. An Arizona State University graduate, he began his career as a district representative for Congressman Trent Franks. He has served in both the Arizona House and Senate, holding leadership roles such as Speaker Pro Tempore and Majority Leader. In 2025, he made history as the first Hispanic Speaker of the Arizona House. His legislative record includes supporting tax cuts, the Arizona Jobs Bill, SB1070, transparency laws, the American Civics Act, and banning affirmative action. He is known for his pro-life, pro-family, pro-2nd Amendment, and pro-border security stances.
