Dr. Steve Woodard was appointed to the City Council in February 2019 and has been a resident of Mountlake Terrace for over 15 years. He is the Vice President of Community Engagement for Volunteers of America Western Washington. Previously, he worked at Edmonds Community College as a dean of student services. Dr. Woodard holds a doctorate in multicultural education and feminist theory from the University of Washington. He has served on several boards, including the Mountlake Terrace Library Board and the Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission. He is a father to students in the Edmonds School District and his wife is a high school educator.
