Sylvia Wayfer Baker is the incumbent Democratic State Representative for Georgia's 64th District, having assumed office on January 13, 2025, with her current term concluding January 11, 2027. A prominent Black politician in the Georgia House, she is also a candidate in the 2026 Georgia Primary Election for the same seat. Baker is an accomplished attorney at The Wayfer Law Firm, and her diverse professional background includes serving as a Pre-Trial Officer, an intern in the Clerk of Courts Office, and the Founding Director of the Families Matter Most Foundation. An alumna of Birmingham School of Law, University of Cincinnati, and California State University-Sacramento, she holds a Juris Doctor, a Master's in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor's in Laws. Baker, who previously ran for Douglas County Superior Court Clerk, is known for her commitment to justice and community service.
